This is Kayven's compo.
“Bye Mum! Bye dad!” I exclaimed as my parents went out of the main door. They were going to a shopping centre to shop for new furniture and some groceries. “Bye!” my parents replied. They entrusted me to complete my weekend homework while they were not at home and do some household chores when I finished them. I spent the next three hours in my room, doing my work diligently while listening to the radio. “Harry Potter and the order of the Phoenix only in theater from 16 July……” the radio dj said just as I finished the last section of my homework. My ears were filled with excitement and found myself running to the kitchen to check the date. “16July!” I thought. I decided to slip out of the house and watch the movie as I had never missed any part of it before.
I went to my savings box and counted the money I had. “Twenty dollars!” I thought as I imagined how fun it would be if I watch this movie. I decided to invite one of my good friends, Tim to accompany me to the cinema. I punched in the numbers on my phone and contacted him. “I don’t have any money with me at the moment.” Tim said. “Don’t worry! I will lend you some first.” I replied. Tim agreed to go with me and soon we were on our way to the cinema at a nearby shopping centre.
Cold air gushed out of the cinema basement as we came in. We queued up and purchased the movie tickets and some popcorn and drinks. Just as we were about to make our way to the cinema hall, I heard a familiar voice calling out my name. I turned around and saw two pairs of stern eyes looking at me. My jaws fell open as my parents approached us with loads of plastic bags, from which I think they came from the supermarket. They questioned us about what we were doing there. “We were just….” I said, trying to talk properly. It’s not my fault! He was the one who forced me to go with him!” My friend said as I thought about what he was talking about. My parents looked stern as they turned back to face me. I tried to explain but was too shocked to do as my parents kept reprimanding me. After talking for half an hour, we finally agreed to go in together since the tickets were already bought and watched the movie.
As we entered the hall, I deliberately switched my seat with my mother as I was furious of Tim. After the movie, Tim explained to my parents what actually happened and apologized to them. My parents scolded the both of us. Tim also apologized sincerely and I agree to forgive them. Form then on, we buried the hatched and became good friends again.
